Find the Science Question

Ender's Game Giver

Science fiction poses questions. For example, Mary Shelley's book, Frankenstein, considered by many to be the first science fiction book, asked: "What if we could build a living person from the parts of dead people?"

Her story asked other questions as well. About science: "What is the effect of electricity on tissues?" And about society's view of what science does: "How would people react to a creature who was made rather than born?" (See Electricity's Spark of Life for more about the role of electricity in living things.)

Think about a science fiction book you have read lately. It might be one of those you see above or another. What science question does it ask?

Send your question, along with the title and author of the book you read, to challenge@snkids.com. Please include your first name, age, city or town, and state. If you are under 13 years old, get your parent's permission to write to us. You may be eligible for a prize!
