The Rotten Truth
Here's a Web site for people who don't think much of that stinking, dirty, ever-growing collection of castoffs that we call garbage. You'll not only think about garbage but you'll tour it and learn about it. Cosponsored by the Smithsonian and the Association of Science-Technology Centers, this is the Internet version of a traveling exhibit on trash. There are tips for reducing waste items, finding new uses for them, and understanding how society has fostered their buildup. Visitors can take cybertrips to a landfill, find a recipe for the best compost, or pick up tips on novel ways to recycle. Projects for kids are abundant.
