Seating Trouble

At a holiday dinner, Colin, Emily, Kate, Fred, and Irene are to be seated in a row along one side of the table. When the five guests arrive, the hostess isn't sure exactly where each person is supposed to sit. But she does remember that Colin isn't next to Kate, Emily isn't next to Fred or Kate, Kate isn't next to Irene (and neither is Emily), and Fred should sit on Irene's left. As you look at them from the opposite side of the table, in what order should the guests sit from left to right?

Adapted from Visual Brainstorms, a brainteaser game from ThinkFun (www.thinkfun.com).
