Science on Ice

Astronaut Don Pettit joined a recent scientific expedition to Antarctica to hunt for meteorites. He used that opportunity to do a series of science experiments, from making a census of microbes in the upper layers of Antarctic ice to photographing south-polar snowflakes to study their structure.
